Hannah Ramirez - President
Name: Hannah Ramirez
Year: Freshman (2nd year)
Major: English Education
My dream job is to travel the world and teach. I hope to get Masters degrees in both Education from Brown and Linguistics from Oxford. I dream of living a life that is focused on living as many experiences as possible and also changing peoples' lives for the better in the process. My life goal is to make a positive impact on as many people as possible, no matter how small.
I accomplished my long-lived dream of taking piano lessons at 8, and started playing percussion in 6th grade. Percussion came to envelop my life. I began marching in my local high school's Marching Band and Percussion Ensemble in 8th grade, and continued my membership in both through my senior year. I also played in the Jazz and Symphonic Band for my high school. I was drum major my senior year, and received the John Phillip Sousa Award for superior musicianship. I now march both in both the Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble and Drum and Bugle Corps, and teach at the Northern Colorado Academy for Marching and Percussion.
My favorite genre of music is definitely alternative, but I do tend to enjoy all music to some degree.
I joined SAI because I felt that I lacked female friendship in my life and wanted a place where I could casually pursue my love of music without feeling pressured to be the best.
My favorite thing about SAI is that it has provided me with so many powerful connections with amazing women, and I don't think I would have been able to make it through college without my sisters. I've also made so many friends within the larger Fraternity and Sorority community at CSU. I love having the connection to a community that SAI provides me.
Some weird facts about me is that I always double knot my shoelaces, and I always keep a pair of boots, a lighter, and a knife in my trunk in case I want to go for a spontaneous hike or need to survive a zombie apocalypse.

Year: Senior
Major: History and Political Science- Concentration in Environmental Politics and Policy
My dream job would be fundraising for non-profit organizations that work towards providing basic human rights to people in developing countries.
I got involved with music in 4th grade when I joined the band. Since then I have sung in choirs, played in the top bands throughout high school, marched in high school Marching Band, and played in the CSU Marching Band for a year while I experimented with being a music major. I have now been playing the Flute for 10 years.
My favorite type of music is punk rock and alternative, but I dabble in everything.
I got involved in SAI because I didn’t know a lot of people at CSU. I thought this would be the perfect way to make friends while being a part of a great organization!
My favorite part about SAI is how much we do for women in music. It is hard to be a woman and be successful in music because it has been a male-dominated world for a long time. SAI works toward changing that via music education.
An interesting fact about me is that I LOVE fundraising! I have put on multiple fundraisers for different organizations and want to make it a career. Event planning with a powerful kickback :)

Mariah Holcomb - Vice President of Ritual
Name: Mariah Holcomb
Year: Senior
Major: Psychology, minoring in International Development
My dream job is a marriage and family counselor. I love to work with kids and helping those experiencing hard times. I plan on getting my Master's Degree, either through continuing school at CSU or going abroad. I absolutely love to travel, and hope to eventually live somewhere in Europe and counsel there.
I started singing in choirs in third grade, although my love of music comes from dancing since the moment I was able to stand up on my own. Along with singing all through elementary school, I also picked up the cello in fifth grade and fell in love with playing instruments. Though I eventually decided to stop playing cello, I learned to play guitar and recently started playing ukulele as well. I continue to sing, and participate in CSU's Marching Band as captain of the color guard. I'm the color guard instructor for Mountain Vista High School in Highland's Ranch, and write choreography for a couple other schools in Colorado.
My favorite genre of music is ska, because it's a party all the time! However, I enjoy almost all music I listen to, and love discovering new sounds.
I joined SAI because I wanted to have an outlet for my love of music that wasn't as intense as being in ensemble, and I was looking for more connection with other girls who love music.
My favorite part about SAI is the sisterhood that we have created together. I've always felt like I didn't have many close female friends, and we've become a family. I love that we all support each other in our growth through music, and as people.
Some fun facts about me are that I play Dungeons and Dragons with some other members of the Marching Band in my spare time, and that I love to sew my own dresses. I'm also a huge fan of Jurassic Park!

Abigale Palmer - Recording Secretary
Name: Abigale Palmer
Year: Junior
Major: Horticulture – Concentration in Floriculture
My dream job would be to own my own floral shop that is more alternative and original. Hopefully not the stereotypical floral shop, but a floral shop with the sound track of a rock show!
I first got involved in music in 6th grade when I joined band where I picked up clarinet. Since then I have kept with band while adding to my instrument arsenal; Clarinet (Bb and bass), Saxophone (Alto and Baritone), and a bunch of other instruments that I have dabbled in such as trumpet, piano, cello, and now tuba. I have been in love with marching band since I entered high school and am now a member of the CSU Marching Band, CSU Basketball Pep Band, CSU Presidential Pep Band, and the CSU Concert Band.
My favorite genre of music would be Metal, with my favorite subgenres being Melodic Thrash Metal and Metalcore.
I got involved with SAI because I wanted to expand the friendships that I limited myself too.
My favorite part about SAI is how much this group of people loves one another. The amount of support and caring is tremendous and I have never seen such a close knit group of lovely women!
An interesting fact about me is that I absolutely LOVE to bake cookies. I have special baking equipment that no one, even my mother, is allowed to handle and/or use. I’m very protective of my kitchen stuff.

Carson Rideout - Corresponding Secretary

My dream job is to be a barbeque sauce taste tester but if that falls through my fallback is to revise the process used to select and train police officers to include more thorough psychological evaluations during the initial selection stages as well as recurring tests throughout each individual officer’s career. I also plan on working to require more advanced hand-to-hand combat and firearms training, comprehensive cultural and religious education, and basic grief counseling methods in officer training processes nationwide.
My magical musical journey started 5 years ago when I joined my high school’s marching band sophomore year. I couldn’t read music and had no idea how to play an instrument, by my senior year I was center for the FRHS Quad Line, a member of the Colorado High School All Star Percussion Ensemble, and accepted into the CSU Percussion Studio. From there I had the enjoyment of playing in the CSU Marching Band, CSU Presidential Pep Band, Concert & Symphonic Band, and Percussion Ensemble.
The worn out phrase “I like all kinds of music!” could go here. My playlists have country, rap, reggaeton, gospel, rock, and I am a HUGE fan of bagpipes. However, I won’t say that I’m a fan of all music because unlike the exquisitely bespectacled Abby Palmer I cannot stand metal.
I joined SAI because, being a percussionist, I had very few female friends and though I love my drummer boys to death I deeply missed spending quality time with fellow ladies. Plus they smell better.
For me the best thing about SAI is the close friendships I’ve been able to make with women I normally wouldn’t come into contact with. Since we began the colonization process 3 years ago I have built an extensive network of intelligent, hard-working, talented young ladies who support me both personally and musically, without whom I definitely would have gone insane by now. Or have I already…
Something interesting about me is I play for the CSU Women’s Rugby Team so if you ever overhear me saying something about how I hit women for fun please don’t call the police I am very nice and being arrested would be fairly upsetting.

Elisabeth Krueger - Treasurer
Name: Elisabeth Krueger
Year: Junior
Major: Human Dimensions of Natural Resources
Minor: Agricultural Literacy
My dream job would be a professional exotic pet sitter but if that doesn’t work out I’d like a job in interpretation where I could spend every day in national parks and natural areas, teaching people about the things I am passionate about.
I have been involved in music since I was born. My parents have videos of my sister and me dancing to any song they would put on. I played the violin for a few years as a small person but gave it up for more free time to wrestle my farm animals. My more recent musical career has comprised of saxophone playing in the CSU Marching Band, Concert Band, Basketball Pep Band, and the Presidential Pep Band.
Similar to many other people in the universe, I like almost all kind of music. Normally you can find me listening to jazz, country, alternative, or blues.
I got involved in SAI because I wanted to be able to continue being involved in music and the community once I couldn’t be involved in the various ensembles at CSU. I also was interested in making new friends with people that have a similar passion for music.
One of my favorite aspects of SAI is being involved in something bigger. It would be easy to go through college without joining a club or organization but I am glad that I have had the opportunity to. All the volunteering, community activism, and fun times I have in SAI have made the hard work worth it and I love feeling like I am contributing to something bigger. Being involved has enriched my college experience and helped me come out of my shell.
An interesting fact about me is that I grew up on a farm. You can take the girl off the farm but you can’t get the farm out of the girl.

Cassidy Koolmees - Editor
Name: Cassidy Koolmees
Year: Junior
Major: Psychology and Sociology with concentrations in mind, brain, and behavior and criminal justice; focus in cognitive neuroscience of music
My dream job would be working in a neuroscience lab using music to help patients with brain damage on a neural level.
I've been singing just I was born, but I really got involved with music in the 6th grade when I joined band and choir. I played the flute and clarinet for three years, then switched to guitar and have been playing since! I also have sung in various choirs as an alto (high notes scare me...) and play gigs with friends on the weekends!
My favorite type of music is everything but hard core twangy bluegrass - like banjos everywhere bluegrass. Other than that I love just about everything :)
I got involved in SAI because I missed music, as well as wanted to be a part of something bigger than myself at CSU. Who knew I'd be getting a whole second family in the process!
My favorite part about SAI is how connected and fun we all are. SAI is one of the few places where I feel I can be myself openly and be accepted and loved no matter what!
An interesting fact about me is that I really love organizing things - I'm talking rooms to desks to binders to closets and everything in between. I'm a neat freak and I love it!

Bethany Roof - Sergeant at Arms
Name: Bethany Roof
Year: 3rd year
Major: Pre-Vet Equine Science
My dream job is to have a sport horse veterinary practice that works with aromatherapy, acupuncture, massage and chiropractic work as well as modern medicine.
With music I am involved with the CSU Marching Band, the CSU Basketball Pep Band, and the Concert Band. I have played the flute and piccolo since 2006.
My favorite Genres of music are country, classical, and soundtracks, but I will listen to just about everything depending on my mood.
I chose to get involved with SAI because I have always been interested in Greek life but none of the already established sororities on campus interested me.
My favorite part about SAI is to create the bonds of sisterhood through a similar interest in music. All of us love music and respect music which brings us all closer together than other Greek life chapters that are merely social.
Some interesting facts about me are that I was a member of the gold medal team at the Equestrian Junior Olympics (NAJYRC) in 2012, I was homeschooled since third grade, and I have a brown belt in Tae Kwon Do.
